Just in time for Fathers Day, here’s a game dads can play with their child during nap time! It all started when Patrick Quinn was playing around with his three-week old son. Once he got five Cheerios stacked on the baby’s face, he had to share it on Facebook. Then other dads took up the challenge, trying to outdo each other, as dads do. The hardest part, they say, is trying not to sabotage themselves with laughter.
So far, the most Cheerios is 16 in a single stack, achieved by two dads so far. Demetrice Pollard worked for an hour to get 16 Cheerios stacked on his baby, and said the stack lasted for 2.5 seconds. No matter -as long as he managed to take a picture! Other submissions used multiple stacks, foods other than Cheerios, and there’s even one with a baby who’s wide awake! But this guy used his head.
But what’s funniest is seeing picture after picture of sleeping babies with Cheerios stacked on their faces. We don’t know if anyone used superglue, but I bet a fair number of them used the “lick and stick” method. See more submissions as they come in at the Life of Dad Facebook page.

It's a simple safety rule: when you're driving through a bad neighborhood, such as Yellowstone National Park, lock your car doors. You don't want some bear to come along and carjack you. These foolhardy tourists learned the hard way that the cute, cuddly black bear views visitors in cars as canned food with pop tops. -via Jalopnik
| Posted: 18 Jun 2016 12:00 AM PDT It’s strange how someone else’s opinion affects your own, isn’t it? Especially when it’s someone you really care about. There must be something good about it if he likes it! And if the movie’s only redeeming quality is the joy it brings someone you love, that can be good enough. This is the latest from Lunarbaboon. | ||||||||
| Sculptures Combining Directors With Their Most Popular Films Posted: 17 Jun 2016 11:00 PM PDT We've featured the artwork of Mike Leavitt before, but for geeks like us, it was impossible not to feature one of his newest lines, King Cuts. In this brilliant series, he combines famous directors with some of their most famous characters creating delightful and mildly disturbing beasts that we would love to display throughout the Neatorama offices. From Kubrik to Cameron and Hitchcock to Lynch, just about every legendary director is included in the series and the creations really do capture their unique visions in the most striking way possible. | Old Comic Book Panels Taken Out Of Context May Make You Feel Funny Posted: 17 Jun 2016 10:00 PM PDT Comic books are one of the easiest places to find out of context comedy because all panels in the book relate to each other, so if you isolate one panel from the rest it reads as totally bizarro. Sometimes you can even isolate a cluster of panels and they will still read as sick and twisted, even if the tale being told takes place in squeaky clean Riverdale High. Of course, there are plenty of strange panels lurking around in old comics that don't need any help to tickle a reader's funny bone But remember- all of these panels were taken from kid-friendly comics, so any perversity you perceive is just a product of your naughty imagination! | Florida Man Calls 911 to Report Lack of Vodka Posted: 17 Jun 2016 09:00 PM PDT
A man in Naples, Florida suddenly found himself in peril. He had consumed vodka but, sadly, an insufficient amount in order to accomplish his biochemical objectives. His girlfriend refused to buy more. So he called 911 to report the situation to emergency services dispatchers. By the time that sheriff's deputies arrived, the alcohol deprivation victim realized that he may have made a mistake. He told the deputies that it was a prank. The Palm Beach Post does not report on whether the officers laughed in response, but it does say that they arrested the man for misusing 911. -via Charles C.W. Cooke
| Psycho House: The Many Faces of the Bates Mansion Posted: 17 Jun 2016 08:00 PM PDT You’d recognize the Bates Mansion from the Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho anywhere, right? Maybe not. Oh sure, you’d recognize images from the 1960 movie, but the house itself is different every time you see it. And you’ve probably seen it in other movies and TV shows and didn’t even realize it. Universal Studios used the house -or parts of it- for a lot of different productions. In fact, the movie Psycho only used a facade for exterior shots!

| Finding Dory Isn't So Great for Our Fish Friends Posted: 17 Jun 2016 07:00 PM PDT The internet is abuzz with the release of Finding Dory today, and while many humans couldn't be happier about the film, wild blue tangs should be shivering in fear. You see, despite Finding Nemo showing that wild fish belong in the wild and not in fish tanks, sales of clownfish skyrocketed after the film's release. Marine biologists are expecting the same to happen with blue tangs now that Dory is leading her own film, but unlike clownfish, blue tangs can't reproduce in captivity. That means every single blue tang in someone's fish tank came from the wild. Even worse, since the fish live in coral reefs and there are no regulations about the capture of fish for aquariums, countless reefs have been damaged in the capture of wild fish and that number will only go up as blue tangs increase in popularity. So if you see Finding Dory and just have to own a Dory of your own, don't head to your local pet store, go to the local Disney Store instead and buy a toy version, which will be a lot more cuddly anyway. | ||||||||
| "Visiting My Dead Dad on Google Street View" Posted: 17 Jun 2016 06:00 PM PDT In the natural order of things, children bury their parents. It is normal, but it is so very hard, too. Bill Frankel and his siblings moved their elderly parents out of their house and into an assisted living facility. This was necessary because they couldn't take care of themselves anymore. 4 months later, Frankel's father died. Then he found his father on Google Street View. He writes at Narrative.ly:
Later, Google Street View updated the phoot. For Frankel, it was like losing his father all over again:

| TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE - A Fright For The Ages Posted: 17 Jun 2016 04:00 PM PDT TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE by Agacactus Classic horror movies rarely make as big of an impact on the audience as Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre did back in 1974, and to this day people can't hear the sound of a chainsaw without thinking of Leatherface. And while the original movie made audiences break out in a cold sweat, and caused many to see Leatherface's gruesome skin mask leering at them in their nightmares, it gave horror movie fanatics a new creep to root for who was somehow kinder and gentler than the rest. For poor old Leatherface was just following orders and trying not to disappoint his dear demented family, a feeling we can all relate to, and with the release of future installments we got to see just how fun it would be to hang around Leatherface's house of horrors... Declare your love of classic horror flicks with this TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE t-shirt by Agacactus, it's a killer work of art! | 10 Memorable Bathroom Scenes in Movies Posted: 17 Jun 2016 04:00 PM PDT In light of this week’s featurearticles, this one should come as no surprise to you. There was a time when pop culture ignored the bathroom, both public and private, because calling attention to private functions was just not done. But over the past 50 years or so, putting a movie scene in a restroom, public or private, has become common. The setting automatically gives the scene a feeling of intimacy. In a comedy, there’s plenty of opportunity for potty humor. In a drama, there’s an implication of secrecy. Check out both kinds of bathroom movie scenes in a list at Unreality, with video evidence. | ||||||||
| Waitress with Incredible Reflexes Saves Falling Mug Posted: 17 Jun 2016 02:44 PM PDT
It's really dangerous to reveal mutant superpowers like this--and especially for something as trivial as a mug. Nonetheless, this waitress at the Posita bar in Moaña, Spain demonstrated her superhuman dexterity and reflexes when a mug fell off a high shelf. She kicked it behind her back, sending it flying into a sink full of water. Her co-worker and customers reacted with horror when they realized that she's one of them. -via Jonah Goldberg
| The Time Morrissey Ruined Bill Cosby's Appearance On The Tonight Show Posted: 17 Jun 2016 02:00 PM PDT The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson played host to many big names with equally big egos to match, but on June 4, 1991 one big head obscured the rest- Steven Patrick Morrissey, aka The Moz. This star studded episode featured Bill Cosby, Beau Bridges and musical act Morrissey, and even though Cosby and Bridges were huge stars, they simply couldn't find their way out of Morrissey's shadow. For Morrissey had just finished his first U.S. Tour after cancelling his last show in Austin because the crowds had grown too rowdy, and those who couldn't make it to a show descended upon NBC studios in Burbank. The rowdy fans ruined Carson's monologue, making him mighty grumpy, but Cosby soldiered on by adding Morrissey references to his jokes, which won the Moz fans over for a minute- until it was time for Morrissey to perform. As Morrissey performed Sing Your Life and There Is A Place In Hell the crowd went bananas, taking the show out of Carson's control. When they inexplicably segued to Beau Bridges after Moz's performance it was clear the audience was lost, leaving Carson to get revenge the only way he knew how- by not thanking Morrissey for being his guest at the end of the show. | The Suicide Club: Early American Airmail Pilots Posted: 17 Jun 2016 12:00 PM PDT In 1918, airplanes were still a new concept, and outside of a few stunt promotions, were only used for war and for delivering mail. The US Army encourage the Post Office Department to buy their surplus planes after World War I. Flying the mail across the country was a dangerous job.
It was dangerous because those early planes had few safety features, aerial maps were fairly primitive, and pilots were expected to fly through any weather. The men who flew the planes were aware of the dangers, but they were risk-takers who lived to fly. Read about them at Atlas Obscura.

| Game of Thrones Houses As Pokemon Posted: 17 Jun 2016 06:00 AM PDT Game of Thrones is hardly a children's show, but that doesn't mean it can't inspire adorable creations. In fact, artist Kaleb Leigh did a magnificent job translating the house sigils from the story into Pokemon, complete with their evolutionary processes. They look cute, but I sure wouldn't let my kids collect them all or even watch the resulting battles. Via Nerd Approved |
