| The tricky part of artificial intelligence is the word "artificial." Typically, the word refers to something man-made, but the artificial in AI describes intelligence and learning that is machine-made. What's straightforward is that machine-made intelligence and learning deliver tremendous benefits for a wide variety of mechanical and digital devices, businesses, and, yes, real people. The July/August 2016 Oracle Magazine cover feature, "AI," focuses on how Oracle is building artificial intelligence and machine learning into multiple products and services to serve the businesses that serve real people. And this issue's interview, "IoT at Work," continues the machines-for-people conversation, describing Oracle's IoT strategy and key features of Oracle Internet of Things Cloud Service. In our hands-on technology coverage, Oracle Magazine columnists describe how people can use today's machines to build mobile applications with Oracle Mobile Cloud Service and Oracle Application Express. Still more tech columns in this issue teach SQL basics, how to write in a read-only database, and how to use PL/SQL set operators. Download the issue to your iPad.
