The National Association of African American Studies & Affiliates will host its national conference in Dallas, Texas February 13-18, 2017. The conference is expected to serve as host to more then 1,200 scholars from across the U.S. and twenty foreign countries. International representatives are currently registered from Cameroon, China, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa, Senegal, Mexico, Costa Rica, India, and many more. The conference is open to the general public. This conference marks the 25th in the history of the national organization and has garnered a great amount of support from colleagues worldwide. Mrs. Ela Gandhi, granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi will attend the entire conference and, will appear as the featured speaker on Saturday, February 18, 2017. In addition to the appearance of Ela Gandhi, the organization will be co-hosting the National African American Drug Policy Coalition, the Native American Fatherhood and Families Association, and the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization. Each of the three aforementioned organizations welcomes attendance and participation from the larger community.
