Throwing out the playbook

Donald's doing it. So are we.

When everything about this administration and its policies seems unprecedented and historic, our response can't come from the same ol' playbook.

So we're throwing it out.

This past weekend, MPower Change members joined tens of thousands of protestors at airports all across the country, from New York to San Francisco, and from Chicago to Los Angeles. And we didn't just protest—folks at airports helped organize relief and legal aid for refugees and detainees, fed organizers and lawyers on the scene, and showed the whole world that Trump doesn't represent the rest of us.

For those who couldn't make it out, we live-streamed the actions so tens of thousands more could feel part of the movement and witness these beautiful moments.

But this week, the Trump regime—led by either Donald Trump himself or his henchman and White House Advisor, Steve Bannon—is doubling down on its hateful policies. So we need to double down on our response.

Later today, Trump is planning to announce his pick for the Supreme Court. He had originally scheduled the announcement for Thursday, but moved it up by two days in hopes of drawing attention away from the ban. This announcement's going to be big—but we can walk and chew gum at the same time, as they say.

Here's what we know about the Muslim ban: it has failed in every single one of the challenges brought against it in court. But the Trump regime hasn't shown that it cares about laws, security, or even the American people—Trump's Border Patrol openly defied federal judicial orders this weekend.

In the days ahead, Trump will likely throw more policies and announcements our way to get our opposition off track. We don't need to lose focus—or pretend like we're the only ones hurting. We need to lean into this movement—into solidarity—to stop this tyrant.
