Senate Republicans just moved one step closer to confirming Trump's nominee for Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson -- even though he's woefully unqualified. Chip in now to help Democrats fight back: Lewis -- You don't have to be a Democrat to see the obvious problems with Rex Tillerson, Trump's nominee to be Secretary of State. Just take it from Marco Rubio: "My concern was that Mr. Tillerson would be an advocate for and would pursue a foreign policy of deal-making at the expense of traditional alliances and at the expense of the defense of human rights and of democracy." I don't know about you, Lewis, but those sound like pretty damn legitimate reasons not to confirm someone as our Secretary of State, especially someone who's been called Vladimir Putin's best American friend and whose last time working for the government (sorry, let me clarify ... our government) or anyone other than Exxon was in 1975. And yet, despite the many reservations held by Senate Democrats and Republicans, he is on his way to a full Senate vote after being confirmed in a party-line 11-10 vote by the Foreign Relations committee yesterday. You read that right, Lewis -- "Little Marco," as Trump deservedly nicknamed him, and his fellow Senate Republicans set aside their principles and reservations, and caved. Lewis, there's a word that comes to mind as Republicans continue to push through Trump's unqualified and severely conflicted nominees: spineless. It's going to take all of our voices together to demand that Republican senators stop bending to Trump's (or Putin's) whims and do what's right for our country and the American people. The Tillerson nomination is moving forward for now, but there's still time to stop it and to stand up against the worst of Trump's nominees. Pitch in $10 or more today to help fight back. If you've saved your payment information, your donation will go through immediately. Thanks, Lewis. We're going to need a lot of Democratic strength behind this.QUICK DONATE: $10 QUICK DONATE: $25 QUICK DONATE: $50 QUICK DONATE: $100 QUICK DONATE: $200 Or donate another amount.
