The September NASDAQ 100 was slightly higher overnight after President Trump unilaterally extends jobless benefits. The high-range trade sets the stage for a steady to higher opening when the day session begins trading. Stochastics and the RSI are overbought but remain neutral to bullish signaling that sideways to higher prices are possible near-term. If September extends this year's rally into uncharted territory upside targets will be hard to project. Closes below the 20-day moving average crossing at 10,831.50 would confirm that a short-term top has been posted. First resistance is last-Friday's high crossing at 11,283.25. Second resistance is unknown. First support is the 20-day moving average crossing at 10,831.50. Second support is the 50-day moving average crossing at 10,373.30.

The September S&P 500 was steady to slightly higher overnight as it extends the rally off March's low. The mid-range overnight trade sets the stage for a steady to higher opening when the day session begins trading later this morning. Stochastics and the RSI are overbought but remain neutral to bullish signaling that sideways to higher prices are possible near-term. If September extends the rally off March's low, February's high crossing at 3387.60 is the next upside target. Closes below the 20-day moving average crossing at 3257.86 would confirm that a short-term top has been posted. First resistance is the overnight high crossing at 3346.20. Second resistance is February's high crossing at 3387.60. First support is the 20-day moving average crossing at 3257.86. Second support is the 50-day moving average crossing at 3167.45.
