FireEye Red Team Tools Scanner Available in RMM ComStore

Hello Indiana, As you may have heard, California-based cybersecurity firm FireEye recently reported that a highly-sophisticated state-sponsored adversary stole their Red Team assessment tools. The tools range from simple scripts to entire penetration testing frameworks. While FireEye uses these tools to look for vulnerabilities across systems and advise on security measures, hackers can use them in the same way with malicious intent. We understand the unease and worry this incident has caused amongst the MSP community, and in response, Datto has developed the FireEye Red Team Countermeasure Scanner to detect the presence of FireEye's stolen tools. How does it work? The FireEye Red Team Countermeasure Scanner leverages the FireEye-published detection methods to scan all executable files on Windows systems for the presence of the stolen tools on a configurable schedule. If detected, it will identify where the stolen FireEye tool is located. From there, we recommend working with a qualified incident response firm to aid you in conducting an investigation into the potential presence of a threat actor. How can I access it? Free scripts are available today in the Datto RMM ComStore to Datto RMM partners.
