LinkedIn is helping business-to-business marketers use the platform as a type of digital storefront with the launch of its LinkedIn Product Pages tab, which can showcase key offerings, testimonials, ratings and call-to-action buttons for sales contact or demonstration requests. LinkedIn will curate the pages for businesses and allow marketers to then customize the content.

L'Oreal is investing in Replika Software to expand its presence in social commerce, which is where consumers, beauty professionals and influencers connecting via social media drive shopping, said Lubomira Rochet, chief digital officer. "Our ambition is to crack this new channel and create a healthy and dynamic ecosystem of social sellers for the beauty category," said Rochet.

Zuckerberg to focus on VR, AR, commerce

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg encouraged employees to understand that public scrutiny is part of the competitive landscape during a year-end virtual meeting and noted during the new year he'll be "particularly focused" on technologies like augmented and virtual reality which offer "a deeper sense of presence." Zuckerberg also said the company has opportunities around remote working and e-commerce tools.

Measurement Matters
Most consumers say advertisers should avoid placing promotions near hate speech (73.5%), pornography (68%) and pirated movies or TV shows (54%), according to an online survey from the Trustworthy Accountability Group and Brand Safety Institute. The survey also found roughly 1 out of 3 web users say businesses should avoid ads next to articles covering COVID-19 deaths, police brutality and civil unrest, while 40% say ads should run with any type of news.
