The first edition of the board game Architects of Digital Health has been manufactured

The first edition of the board game Architects of Digital Health has been manufactured. This game was co-designed by CII's Senior Digital Health Advisor Merrick Schaefer as part of the Digital Health: Planning National Systems course developed by WHO. The interactive board game is a fun way to learn about trade-offs and dependencies in designing national digital health systems. The game has already been used by global health practitioners in Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Ghana and South Africa, and among WHO teams. The game is currently being integrated into courses by Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University.

Two studies on pioneering partnership, Project Last Mile (PLM)

Project Last Mile (PLM), the pioneering public-private partnership between USAID, the Coca-Cola Company and its Foundation, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Global Fund, and PEPFAR had its work recently featured in two peer-reviewed journals. The Evolution of Trust Within a Global Health Partnership With the Private Sector: An Inductive Framework uses longitudinal qualitative data to show how trust in multi-sector partnerships evolves over time. The resulting framework can be used by others seeking to embark on or strengthen partnerships, consistent with PLM's aim of inspiring broader private sector engagement. Project Last Mile and the Development of the Girl Champ Brand in eSwatini describes the development of the GirlChamp brand in eSwatini, which illustrates how private sector strategic marketing approaches can be translated for public health behavior change.

Digital Square publishes strategic framework for pandemic preparedness

The Digital Square project published Digital Applications and Tools Across an Epidemiological Curve (DATEC) as a strategic framework for governments, investors, implementing organizations, and the digital health community to better understand how existing digital tools can be adapted and used during different phases of an outbreak. DATEC also demonstrates the role data science, system interoperability, and routine surveillance play; and summarizes investment information to facilitate coordination and smart investments. DATEC was developed with a range of partners, including USAID, CDC, WHO, UNICEF and others.
