DAY 8 OF 12 Change Up Your Evenings We've all been guilty of lying in bed with the lights off scrolling through our phones, but it's time to break that habit for better sleep. Still, there could be other things you're doing right before bed that are keeping you awake. For example, working out or not setting aside proper wind-down time before bed. Say you're catching up on a work assignment, and you try to go directly to bed after you finish. Your brain may not be ready for sleep. You may also be tempted to reward yourself by watching a movie or making a yummy late night snack. While these activities can take the edge off of a long day, you'll get better results if you make time to do them earlier in the evening. For today's challenge: Mix up how you spend free time in the evenings. Stop using screens an hour before you go to bed. Instead of scrolling through Instagram, try reading a book (not digital!), or embrace your inner child and draw or color. Tomorrow, we'll help you create a relaxing bedtime routine.
