New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a "robust" implementation of booster doses in New York's COVID-19 vaccination program to ensure efficient, equitable, and effective distribution of doses to eligible New Yorkers.
Drugmakers Pfizer and BioNTech announced that they've submitted data to the FDA from vaccine trials involving children ages 5 to 11. The data was shared for initial review, and a formal request for Emergency Use Authorization for this age group is anticipated in the coming weeks.
California is the only state in the country to have "moderate" spread of COVID-19, according to the CDC. While the state had seen a virus surge in the late summer, it now is seeing the lowest rates of transmission in the U.S. Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory, also has moderate spread of COVID-19.
