| January 27, 2022   Boris Johnson has again been accused of lying to the public after new evidence emerged suggesting he personally authorised the controversial evacuation of 173 dogs and cats from Afghanistan.
The prime minister was accused of "stumbling from one scandal to the next" after an internal government email contradicted his claims that he hadn't intervened to prioritise the animal airlift last August.
The new controversy comes as the PM awaits the results of the Sue Gray inquiry into whether he broke lockdown rules at Downing Street and lied about them.

The Big Question  Will the UK and US threat to personally sanction Vladimir Putin be enough to stop conflict erupting in Ukraine? As tensions continue to fester on the Ukrainian border where an estimated 106,000 Russian troops are amassed and an invasion feared, the UK and the US have both threatened to sanction Russian president Vladimir Putin personally if he presses ahead with military action.
Diplomatic talks between officials from Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany are due to take place in Paris on Wednesday in the hope of resolving the standoff.
But US president Joe Biden said on Tuesday that an attack could lead to sanctions being imposed against Mr Putin himself, a step America rarely takes but that has been implemented against the likes of Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro and Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad in recent years. Could the strategy prove a sufficient deterrent here?
