March 07, 2022 Russia has said this morning that it is opening new humanitarian corridors across multiple Ukrainian cities to allow civilians to evacuate. The pledge comes after similar attempts at Mariupol failed when Russian forces continued to shell civilians during the agreed ceasefire hours, according to Ukraine.
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenksy accused Russian of purposefully attacking people as they fled, saying: "Instead of humanitarian corridors, they can only make bloody ones." He said that a mother, father, and their two children were killed trying to leave Irpin, near Kyiv.
Russian state media have said that the new humanitarian corridors will be opened from the cities of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and Sumy. They report that the corridors are being set up at the personal request of French President Emmanuel Macron.
There are also reports of a Russian attack on the city of Mykolaiv near the Black Sea in southern Ukraine.

The Big Question Why is Sadiq Khan extended the ULEZ zone to the whole of Greater London? The Mayor of London has announced plans to extend the city's Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) to the whole of Greater London.
Sadiq Khan said in a speech on Friday that the policy would help tackle the "triple challenge" of air pollution, the climate emergency, and congestion.
Under the plans, from next year motorists in vehicles that do not meet emissions standards would have to pay £12.50 a day to drive in Greater London.
