A message from Congresswoman Ann Wagner
| | | | | | | Dear , I was horrified to see the multiple terrorist attacks in Israel that took the lives of innocent civilians. I stand with our allies in Israel and fully support Israel’s right to defend itself. I spoke at the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee Hearing on the opportunities and challenges facing our Eastern Mediterranean allies. The Eastern Mediterranean has the potential to offset Europe’s dangerous dependence on Russia for energy and the United States must increase our energy production to help them as well as achieve our own energy independence. The United States should work closely with reasonable partners to identify and cut off sources of Russian influence. Watch my full remarks on this issue here. It was great meeting with constituents from Stupp Bros and Trinity Products to discuss infrastructure and our shared desire to grow our economy and make life easier for workers and businesses in the St. Louis region, and across the country. The Financial Services Committee held a hearing last week where we discussed the accuracy of home appraisals and how important they are to the home buying process. As federal and state agencies work to implement and monitor regulations on the home buying process, I believe it’s important that a balance is struck between protecting homeowners while ensuring the government does not impose regulations that are too restrictive and burdensome. Watch my questioning of our witnesses here. As Chair of the Suburban Caucus, I know how important it is to expand savings opportunities for my constituents. That is why I am thrilled the House passed H.R. 2954, the Securing a Strong Retirement Act, last week. This bill strengthens America’s retirement savings system and would benefit millions of Americans who work at small businesses, while providing more flexibility to employers. I was proud to support this legislation and will continue to advance similar policies to help suburban families and workers nationwide. My friend and colleague Don Young sadly passed away and I was grateful to say goodbye to him as he lay in state at the United States Capitol. We will miss his honesty and his larger-than-life personality. Sincerely, Ann Wagner Member of Congress | | | | | | |
