| Funerals for victims of Uvalde school shooting begin as new details emerge in probe: Two 10-year-olds were among the first victims laid to rest Tuesday as funeral and memorial services began in Uvalde, Texas, one week after one of the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history. Funerals took place for Amerie Jo Garza and Maite Rodriguez, with memorial services for more victims expected to take place through June 16. As the small town mourns for the 21 lives lost, including 19 third- and fourth-graders and two teachers who were killed at Robb Elementary School on May 24, new details have emerged through the probe into the shooting. The Texas Department of Public Safety is correcting previous comments it made stating a teacher had left a door propped open that the gunman used to enter the school. Texas Department of Public Safety press secretary Ericka Miller confirmed to ABC News that investigators have now determined that the teacher closed the door but that the door did not lock. Meanwhile, multiple law enforcement sources tell ABC News that the Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent School District police force are no longer cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Safety's investigation into the massacre and the state's review of the law enforcement response. According to sources, the decision to stop cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news conference Friday during which he said the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the wrong decision" and contrary to protocol. | 📰 Stories we're also watching 📰 📝 Kevin Spacey said he plans to "voluntarily appear" before British courts to defend himself over sexual assault charges.
