As salaamu alaykum, Indiana—
This is a moment to show solidarity with Palestine.
Right now, Israel is planning the largest forced displacement of Palestinians since the 1970s: the demolition of at least 12 villages in Masafer Yatta. They aim to replace Palestinian homes with 4,000 new occupied West Bank units.¹
This flagrant violation of international law comes on the heels of the murder of famed Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. On May 11th, an Israeli soldier shot and killed Shireen Abu Akleh while she was covering Israel's state violence against the people of Jenin. Shireen was considered "the voice of Palestine" for years and now Israel has silenced her.
But the people of Palestine will not be silenced. And neither will we.
MPower Change is a Palestinian-led organization fighting for a free Palestine through our campaigns on No Tech for Apartheid, Gaza is Palestine, and many others.
Palestinian freedom needs strong international support. MPower Change is organizing Muslims, Arabs, Black and brown allies, Asians, and Jews — any single person or community willing to speak out for justice — to build that support.
Because it's going to take a much larger movement to strengthen our organizing, pressure our leaders, and hold corporations accountable for profiting off the violation of Palestinian human rights and dignity.
Keep speaking up and showing up for Palestine with us today.
In solidarity,
Granate Kim, and the MPower Change team
