Dear Friend,

Stop the slaughter of bear cubs and protect our ecosystems. Donate $27 or more today and make twice the impact!

Innocent, defenseless bear cubs and their mamas are being SLAUGHTERED in staggering numbers. Last year, 3,659 bears in Pennsylvania were killed, with 1,315 of those being brutally hunted in only FOUR DAYS! This marked the fifth-largest bear hunt in the state, all for the sake of trophy hunters' interests. Stop the slaughter and protect bears and the planet with your contribution of $27 or more today and it will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $87,000!

There are no safe spaces for bears ever since the Trump administration allowed for the killing of bear cubs in their dens. Now, sleeping and hibernating bear mamas can be shot to death in the same place they count on to keep their babies protected.

About 50,000 bears are hunted down every year across the country -- and that does not include those that are killed by poaching. If this trend continues, it could have serious implications on threatened bear populations. And yet, some states continue to wreak havoc on bears by extending the hunting season, encouraging these record-breaking numbers.

1,315 bears killed in just four days -- and many more bear cubs orphaned. Protect bears and the planet with your contribution of $27 or more today and make double the impact!

More states continue to follow Pennsylvania's model of allowing bigger bear hunts year after year, and we are seeing dangerous repercussions. For some, even this increase in slaughter is not enough; hunters will resort to poaching bears as well.

This is what happened to one weak and defenseless bear mama in Colorado: While looking for food to nourish her babies, she was shot and killed, leaving her two cubs orphaned. It happens too often, especially when bears are beginning to venture out from hibernation, weakened, hungry, and unable to protect themselves and their cubs. Without their mamas, orphaned bear cubs don't stand a chance of survival -- dying of starvation or hypothermia.

Entire bear families are doomed with just one shot. In North Carolina, some bear sanctuaries are even considering opening up to hunting as soon as this year, putting more bears at risk in a place where they are meant to be kept safe! This disregard for their lives has gone too far.

The fate of bear cubs is being decided by private interests who only care about trophy hunting, mining, logging, and drilling for profit. This is why states are chipping away at animal and land protections at the expense of precious species and the ecosystems that depend on them.

Fight back against trophy hunting and Big Industry attacks on bears and their cubs. Donate $27 today and your gift will be matched -- but only until midnight tonight.

Bears are intelligent creatures who enhance biodiversity, enrich soils, regulate prey populations, and transport nutrients through different ecosystems as they make their way through vast swaths of wilderness. Removing protections could wreak havoc not only on the species but on their surrounding environment as well.

This is why Friends of the Earth is working to curb the concerted attack on bears and the lands they roam. We are compelling the US Fish and Wildlife Service to restore the ban on trophy hunting bear cubs, opposing oil and gas lease sales on public lands, and working to keep grizzlies protected under the ESA.

With Big Industry's profits under threat, they are pushing back against these efforts, but we are not giving up. Vulnerable species and bear cubs are relying on our work and your support to keep up the fight.

Your membership gift of $27 or more to Friends of the Earth will allow us to push our fight forward to protect vulnerable bear cubs and our planet. But we don't have a moment to lose. Make your gift now while bear cubs and their mamas still have a chance to survive and our matching gift opportunity is still available!

Join the fight to save bears and our planet. Donate now and have your gift matched dollar for dollar, but only until midnight TONIGHT.
