Your Signature is Needed: Defend Sea turtles from fossil fuel greed

BABY SEA TURTLES ARE BEING BORN ON CONTAMINATED BEACHES. Turtle shells evolved to protect these charismatic creatures from predators, not oil spills from offshore drilling rigs. But the Biden administration continues to issue new leases to dirty energy companies seeking to make BILLIONS from endangering sensitive marine habitats.

The administration is developing a plan that could lock us into fossil fuel development for at least half a decade -- but you can still stop this. We are in a critical moment to influence what life looks like for sea turtles and other creatures over the next several years. Help save these critters from toxic fumes and disruptive noises that interfere with their communication and navigation skills. Tell the Biden administration: No more offshore oil and gas leasing!

The consequences of these dangerous drilling operations ripple onto onshore communities as well. Oil and gas corporations have long extracted the Gulf's resources, treating the region as a sacrificial zone to offshore drilling, making empty promises of wealth and opportunity at every turn. Instead, fossil fuels have poisoned Gulf South residents' air and water -- and brought the looming fear of catastrophic oil spills. It's past time for change.

The Gulf South is ready to turn the page on dirty energy extraction. And this week, communities from across the country are uniting to support their neighbors in this region. Momentum is building to stop fossil fuel extraction – and activists like you can amplify the message at this critical moment. Will you demand the Biden administration support Gulf South communities instead of continuing to expose these vulnerable communities to more degradation and harm?
