Big Oil and Big Cruise are pushing this precious species toward EXTINCTION with noise and pollution from their ships, disrupting their orca habitats and causing a further decline in endangered Chinook salmon – their most vital food source. |
| With salmon under constant threat from pollution, overfishing and major shipping traffic, it's no surprise that orcas are struggling to survive. In fact, a new study reports that the Southern Resident orcas have faced serious malnourishment for years – getting 17% LESS food than what they need! |
| This slow, painful and persistent starvation makes this orca family MORE vulnerable to threats from corporate polluters. On the one hand, oil pipelines and fleets of tankers are a ticking time bomb for the next devastating oil spill. On the other, "green" cruise lines are dumping acidic pollution directly into orcas' fragile habitats. Unless we take action, these threats will only get worse. |
