| ⛈️ At least 81 people in Florida have died due to Hurricane Ian and an additional four people have been reported dead due to the storm in North Carolina. Some hard-hit counties in Florida have been called uninhabitable. As people across the country find ways to help, stories emerge from the aftermath, including one woman who used social media to reunite with her lost mother, a pregnant woman who drove through treacherous conditions to give birth, and how thousands of people evacuated from flooding nursing homes and hospitals. ⚖️ The Supreme Court returns from summer break and will hear arguments Monday for its new term. For the first time in its 232-year existence, four female justices sit on the nation's highest court. Some of the cases the court has already agreed to hear in the new term include cases related to affirmative action, voting rights, elections, clean water, immigration, LGBTQ rights, Native American adoption, animal rights and disputed works of famous art. 🧀 More than two dozen brands of brie and camembert cheese products have been recalled in connection with a listeria outbreak that has left multiple people hospitalized. Old Europe Cheese recalled 25 brands amid the multistate outbreak of infections that has been linked to the products. The recalled products have been sold nationwide at multiple retailers and include best-by dates that range from Sept. 28, 2022, to Dec. 14, 2022. ⚽ The president of FIFA called it a "dark day" for soccer after at least 125 people were killed after a match in Indonesia, where police fired tear gas into crowds of rioting fans, causing a stampede, officials said. Videos and photos from the 42,000-seat stadium appeared to show riots in the stands and a stampede across the field. 🩰 A baby's first steps, first words and -- first twirl!
