The number of new deaths decreased by 5% as compared to the previous week, with over 8400 new fatalities reported. As of 27 November 2022, over 637 million confirmed cases and over 6.6 million have been reported globally. Read more   Tis the season: Carla, the vaccine advocate   WHO emergency appeal: Ebola disease outbreak in Uganda When Uganda declared an Ebola outbreak on 20 September in the central part of the country, WHO’s response was based on lessons learned from previous outbreaks in the region, with national authorities focused on rapidly containing the outbreak and preventing it from spreading. WHO's appeal for US$ 88.2 million will help reduce death and illness, with minimum disruption to the country’s social and health systems.
