Climate activist Greta Thunberg has been detained during protests at a coal village in Germany, police have said.
The globally renowned campaigner was detained on Tuesday while demonstrating against the destruction of the village of Luetzerath to make way for the expansion of the Garzweiler coal mine.
The 20-year-old first joined the long running protests last Friday. Climate activists have been holed up in a tunnel beneath the village in the west of the country.
