As salaamu alaykum, Indiana—
Ramadan Mubarak! And welcome to Faith & Action Friday. This week, we've got 5 things we want to share:
This Ramadan, join us as we stand in solidarity with our neighbors and be in the streets — adhering to the Prophetic tradition of acting and speaking out for justice.
Sign up for Iftar in the Streets to unite people in advocating for important issues in our community while breaking fast.Action #2: Commemorate this month with acts of charity and service.
You can support domestic violence survivors at Asiyah Women's Center this Ramadan. The Asiyah Center is a women's emergency center in New York City and in New Jersey that addresses the gap of appropriate residential services for the Arab, Middle-Eastern, Muslim, South Asian (AMEMSA) and/or the Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) population.
You can support the Asiyah Center here.
Action #3: Be a light in the darkness for incarcerated Muslims.
This Ramadan, let's take this opportunity to share the gift of light in the darkness. Your generous donation to Believers Bail Out will transform the lives of Muslims in the prison system through education, spiritual nurturing, and reentry services.
Action #4: Support Muslim students at Baruch College denied religious space.
Muslim students at Baruch College in New York are disproportionately impacted by the administration's decision to disregard the religious rights of its students. Despite the high number of Muslim students, Baruch has forced its Muslim students to pray in small, inaccessible areas on campus. Let's support Muslim students at Baruch College today.
Action #5: One sweet read:
Ramaḍân is the month in which the Quran was revealed as a guide for humanity with clear proofs of guidance and the standard ˹to distinguish between right and wrong˺. So whoever is present this month, let them fast. But whoever is ill or on a journey, then ˹let them fast˺ an equal number of days ˹after Ramaḍân˺. Allah intends ease for you, not hardship, so that you may complete the prescribed period and proclaim the greatness of Allah for guiding you, and perhaps you will be grateful.
Qur'an 2:185

Surely humanity is in grave loss,
except those who have faith, do good, and urge each other to the truth, and urge each other to perseverance. Quran 103:1-3"
Wishing you a restful, restorative, and meaningful weekend.
