Wake up with Good Morning America

| | ⚖️ A federal judge in Texas on Friday ruled to suspend the abortion drug mifepristone, which was approved by regulators 23 years ago and has become one of the most common methods of abortion in the country. Meanwhile, a Washington state judge issued a dueling injunction on Friday in a separate case regarding the status of the FDA's approval of mifepristone. If the conservative 5th Circuit Court of Appeals upholds the Texas ruling -- and the two federal orders remain in conflict -- the issue is likely to be expedited to go before the U.S. Supreme Court. And abortion providers across the country said they had been preparing for what they called a "worst-case scenario." 🚨 The leak of U.S. secret documents about Ukraine continued Friday on social media as an ABC News review found that dozens of documents were first posted on the internet in early March shortly after they were drafted, and also included secret documents about Iran's nuclear program, North Korea's missile program and other regions of the world. The new developments highlight the broadening security concerns about what was already a major security leak of classified information about the U.S. effort to assist Ukraine's military. 🗣️ Vice President Kamala Harris met with former state Reps. Justin Jones and Justin Pearson after they were expelled from the Tennessee Legislature Thursday after Republicans determined they breached the body's rule of decorum. The two, along with state Rep. Gloria Johnson, joined protesters at the state Capitol and called for tighter gun laws after the Covenant school shooting in Nashville that left six people dead. On Sunday, Pearson said he expects to be quickly reappointed after what he called his "unprecedented" expulsion. 🏛️ Donald Trump's attorney Jim Trusty said Sunday that he expects the legal team representing the former president in New York City to seek to dismiss his recent indictment over hush money payments. However, Trump's former attorney general, William Barr, warned Sunday that, in his view, Trump faces more legal peril from the federal probe into his possession of classified documents after leaving office than from the hush money case in New York City. This comes as a majority of Americans believe Trump intentionally did something illegal, according to a new ABC News/Ipsos poll. 💕 One grandfather had the sweetest reaction when he got an unexpected visit from his grandson while his wife secretly recorded the precious moment. | |
