| | 🚨 Five victims were killed and nine others were injured in a mass shooting at a bank in Louisville, Kentucky, on Monday morning, according to police. The 25-year-old suspected shooter was armed with a rifle when he allegedly carried out a mass shooting at the Old National Bank, where he worked, officials said. The suspect was livestreaming, police said, though officials did not elaborate. Authorities said the suspect was killed by police. ✅ Nashville's Metro Council voted unanimously to reinstate Justin Jones, the Tennessee House representative who was ousted by the Republican-led state House. Following a House vote last Thursday, Jones and Justin J. Pearson were expelled for allegedly violating the chamber's rules of decorum by participating in a March 30 protest over gun control. Jones will serve as an interim legislator until a special election is called. ⚖️ The Justice Department on Monday filed an emergency stay motion with the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals seeking to block Friday's order from a federal judge in Texas striking down the FDA's approval of the widely used abortion medication drug mifepristone. The 5th Circuit, seen as one of the most conservative, is expected to weigh in before the ruling takes effect on Friday. In response, Democratic governors from at least three states -- Massachusetts, California and Washington -- have announced they've begun stockpiling abortion medications ahead of a court-ordered injunction that could pull the drug from the market as early as Friday. Wade in a newly published investigation. 🚔 A special grand jury will decide whether to indict any of the eight Akron, Ohio, police officers involved in the death of Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man who had 46 gunshot wounds after being shot by police following a 2022 attempted traffic stop. The incident sparked riots in the city last summer. Bracing for the decision, businesses in downtown Akron began boarding up windows over the weekend and the city has erected a fence and barricades around the courthouse where the special grand jury will be empaneled specifically to hear evidence in the Walker case. 💰 A Florida woman who spent her life savings to help her daughter beat breast cancer is now a millionaire.
