Dear Investor,
In case you missed it, two of Origin Investments' Funds were listed as standouts in my (Jim) recent roundup of how my private real estate investments performed in 2022.1 Some highlights from my article include:
- Origin's Growth Fund III, now closed, generated 29.91% in total returns for my portfolio in 2022, the highest return out of 13 total investments. Origin sold five assets in 2022 and, through a combination of careful due diligence, conservative underwriting, and risk management, they were able to generate strong returns for investors.
- Origin's evergreen IncomePlus Fund was another bright spot in my portfolio, returning 10.20%. The Fund continues to perform in 2023, with a current trailing 12-month total return of 9.40%.2
- To point out the benefits of diversifying one's portfolio towards private real estate, I noted that my stocks and bonds portfolio, comprising of 80% of all investments, generated losses for the year. I would not change my investment plan based on this fact, but it was helpful for annual returns last year to have diversification.
By way of disclosure, we have an advertising relationship with Origin, meaning we get paid for making this introduction and sharing this content. As always with these types of deals, consider this an introduction and not a recommendation. Every deal is unique and the responsibility to vet any and every deal you invest in still lies with you. This opportunity is available to accredited investors only.
If you are looking to gain or increase your exposure to private real estate in 2023, Origin's IncomePlus Fund has demonstrated its ability to perform in various market cycles, posting only one monthly negative return (March 2020) since opening in April 2019.

1,2The trailing 12-month net return is as of 1/31/23 and is calculated by adding the aggregate dividends paid over the last 12-month period, including amounts reinvested through the Fund's dividend reinvestment program, and appreciation in net asset value, and excluding fees.
