 | Two judges released conflicting rulings on a key abortion pill. | - The rulings: A Texas judge suspended FDA approval of mifepristone on Friday night. Shortly after that, a judge in Washington state reached the opposite conclusion in a separate case.
- What is mifepristone? One of two pills used in the most common abortion method in the U.S. The FDA has repeatedly found that it is safe and effective.
- What now? Expect an appeal of the Texas ruling, which won't go into effect for seven days. Both decisions will probably go to the Supreme Court.

- What this means: New Orleans, Miami, Houston and other coastal communities may be even more at risk than we thought.
