A message from Congresswoman Ann Wagner
| | | | | | | Dear , Last week’s resignation by Kim Gardner is just the first step in restoring credibility in the justice system for the city of St. Louis. I called on her to resign back in February and it is egregious she is only just now recognizing how her incompetence has torn apart families and irreparably changed the lives of so many in our St. Louis metro community. From day one she demonstrated a flagrant disregard for both the fundamental rights of victims and the safety of our neighborhoods, completely ignoring her responsibility to uphold the law and put criminals behind bars. She has presided over miscarriages of justice for years, hurting countless victims who put their trust in her and letting dangerous criminals escape the accountability they deserve. St. Louis will be better off without her. I was honored to join the Lutheran South community for a groundbreaking event celebrating their new Center for the Arts. This new center will be a great resource for the students, and I am looking forward to seeing all the artistic talent that will grow out of it. I held another Office Hours with Ann, this time in St. Clair. We had informative conversations about public safety, economic development, veterans’ benefits, and much more. My staff and I always appreciate these opportunities to speak directly with people in their communities. We joined a wonderful celebration last week for the Washington City Hall Centennial! It was great to speak to such a large crowd as we celebrated Washington’s rich history of accomplishments. I enjoyed meeting Cadets from the Washington High School NJROTC program at Wimpy’s in Washington. I am so grateful for their service to our community and country. I had a good visit with our new Crestwood Mayor Scott Shipley at Crestwood City Hall. I appreciated talking with him about the ways we can work together to help Crestwood thrive, as well as the many new economic development projects breaking ground in the community. Mark Reardon and I went on the air to talk about Kim Gardner, the debt ceiling debate, the border crisis, and the newest mortgage rate rules that are hurting responsible homebuyers. Listen to our full interview here. Sincerely, Ann Wagner Member of Congress | | | | | | |
