When I first got to Congress in 2019, a lobbyist said to me, "oh, you're one of those."

An attractive single-woman I wondered? No, he meant one of the new Members who was breaking with tradition and rejecting corporate PAC money. I told the story to Stephen Colbert the other day, check it out.

After meeting that guy, I decided not to take lobbyist money either. I'm one of less than a dozen House members who has made that decision.
