As salaamu alaykum, Indiana—
It's almost summer.
And that means summer travel — whether for religious reasons like Hajj, to visit family that can't come here, or just for the simple pleasure of a vacation.
For many Muslims, summer travel comes with the anxiety that we could be detained, interrogated, or have our personal belongings confiscated.
We want to be ready and know our rights before we travel this summer.

This webinar is a special event, taking a look at the broader context of institutional Islamophobia, and equip you with knowledge on how to respond if you are harassed while flying.
We'll also be sharing additional ways for you to stay involved with the #FlyingWhileMuslim campaign.
Here's why this kind of training is so especially important this year:
As you might recall, a version of the no-fly list leaked just a few months ago.
The fact it was almost entirely Muslim and Arabic names was morally shocking — but unfortunately not surprising.
The government should not limit anyone's mobility and freedom to travel just because of their name, faith, or ethnicity. We all deserve to travel safely and without harassment.
RSVP now at mpowerchange.org/flyingrights.
Thank you for all you do. Can't wait to see you next week.
In solidarity,
Sinthia, Linda, Ishraq and the MPower Change team
