Hey Indiana,How's your relationship with music? When you pick up and play your instrument by yourself, how do you feel? How about when you play with and in front of other people? If you are anything like I was (and thousands of students I've coached) there have been moments where your relationship with music was on the rocks. I imagine you've had moments where you hated the sound of your playing. Perhaps, you've spent a lot of time feeling unsatisfied with your playing to the point where frustration dominated your musical experience. And if it's the worst case scenario (like it used to be for me), you get triggered when you see your instrument, or go to play with other musicians. The problem is, when we start creating a bad relationship with music, things can really start to spiral and get worse. That's why I want to talk with you about this today. My hope for you is that every time you play your instrument you feel intense joy and fulfillment, not self loathing or disappointment. I want you to have a blast when you play with other people, instead of feeling nervous and self conscious.
I want playing your instrument to feel like your safe haven away from the rest of your daily life. The truth is, it wasn't always this way for me. That's why on the podcast this week I've decided to get a bit vulnerable with you and share my story. It may be surprising to hear that my relationship with music wasn't always so great (and sometimes still has some bumps on the road). It's because of this that one of the greatest purposes of the work I do is to ensure that this is never the case for you.Take a listen, it could make a huge difference for your relationship with music.>>>Hear my story about my bad relationship with music<<<
