| | ☀️ Extreme heat continued to plague the western United States this weekend, prompting heat alerts for tens of millions of residents. Heat advisories and warnings were issued for 40 million Americans across 10 states on Sunday, with the highest temperatures concentrated in places such as California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. "The earth is screaming at us," said Washington Governor Jay Inslee in an interview with ABC "This Week" co-anchor Martha Raddatz on Sunday morning. Temperatures are expected to rise in the Midwest as the heat dome will move eastward toward the middle of the country this week.
⛺ A woman was found dead after what authorities say was "an apparent bear encounter" near Yellowstone National Park. The population of grizzly bears has grown in recent years, officials say. Citing human safety, wildlife officials implemented an emergency closure of the area.
💪 Jamie Foxx addressed his medical complications for the first time since he was hospitalized in April. The 55-year-old actor posted a video on Instagram saying he has been through "hell and back" while dealing with his undisclosed medical issue. Foxx thanked those who prayed for him, as well as his family for their support on his road to recovery. "I am on my way back," Foxx said at the end of his emotional video message.
