Bernie Sanders spoke for 18 minutes today on the Senate Floor about Gaza. He showed compassion and heart once again for the people of Gaza, but he did not say what we need him to say which is "Ceasefire NOW."

Please take a moment to urge Senator Sanders to continue a legacy of strength and moral fortitude.

Senator Bernie Sanders has passionately stood up for Palestinian human rights before, and we need him to call for a ceasefire now to stop the genocide of our sisters and brothers in Gaza.

In May 2021 — during Israel's assault on Gaza — Sen. Sanders urged for "an immediate ceasefire" and for the U.S. to "take a hard look at nearly $4 billion a year in military aid to Israel," out of concern that U.S. aid supports human rights violations.¹

We need that moral clarity from him now.

Pressure is building in Congress, where 18 House Democrats — all progressive lawmakers of color — joined a resolution urging the White House to call for and negotiate "an immediate de-escalation and ceasefire in Israel and occupied Palestine."

We need Bernie Sanders to lead a similar effort in the Senate.

Nearly 400 of his former staffers wrote an impassioned plea to Sen. Sanders to call for an immediate ceasefire:²

"While your statements thus far have called for 'the bombs and missiles from both sides' to end, we urge you to stand with those in the U.S. House of Representatives who have introduced a formal resolution calling for a ceasefire in the region."³

Since the letter, Senator Sanders has called for a humanitarian pause. But we need him to do more to end the violence and carnage. He has taken the hard path before and with your help, we can push him to show moral courage and clarity again.
