What to know: A four-day pause in fighting and the exchange of 150 Palestinian prisoners for 50 hostages in Gaza — part of a deal agreed yesterday — have not yet begun.
Digging deeper: Israel said it could extend the pause in fighting by a day for every additional 10 hostages released by Hamas of the estimated 240 held in Gaza.

A car crashed and exploded at the U.S.-Canada border yesterday.

What happened? A speeding car veered off the road, flew over a fence and crashed at the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, N.Y. Two people in the car were killed.
The response: FBI agents scrambled to determine the cause and four border crossings in the area were closed, but officials said there were no signs it was an act of terrorism.
