A Message from Ann

A message from Congresswoman Ann Wagner

Dear ,

At a time when anti-Semitism is sweeping through our nation and Jewish students have increasingly felt unsafe on college campuses, we should all be committed to standing up against bigotry in all forms.  I was appalled to see University Presidents testify before the House and be completely evasive when asked if they would discipline students calling for the genocide of Jews.  This was a time for leaders to meet the moment and show solidarity with students at a dangerous time in the world, and I was appalled to see such mealy-mouthed answers.

I will always fight to protect our Jewish friends and neighbors, and I hope all schools will rise to protect their students from those calling for their destruction.  Read more here about these shocking actions.

I had an informative visit to Ameren’s Labadie Energy Center.  I appreciated getting a firsthand look at how they generate the energy that powers our homes and businesses. They truly have a dedication to safety there and it was especially helpful to see what it takes to safely operate at such a high capacity.

Speaker Mike Johnson and I had a meeting this week where we spoke on the importance of funding the government, securing our border, and supporting our troops. I will always work with our Republican leadership to ensure our nation is strong and your liberties are protected.

Last week I voted for and the House passed the CARS Act, legislation that would prevent the Administration’s attempts to destroy the automobile market. President Biden’s EV mandate would raise costs for consumers at a time when inflation is wrecking family budgets and this legislation will help provide more choices for those looking to purchase a car.

I voted to repeal the Biden Administration’s disastrous student loan plan that would have made taxpayers shoulder the burden for loans they didn’t take out.  This is a recklessly unjust overreach by the President and would harm everyday Americans who either paid back their loans or didn’t take them out at all.

I wish peace, joy, and many blessings for all celebrating Hanukkah this week.  Chag Urim Sameach!
