I came into this role with a lot to accomplish in my first year: We hired social media editors in each of our cities to help meet readers where they are (and help bring in the next generation of loyal news readers); we launched new websites with a cleaner design and less-intrusive ad experience; we hired an SEO specialist to work with our journalists to help get our stories in front of as many readers as possible and help develop story ideas around trending topics; and we hired Lily, who you know, as membership manager to connect with and reach more readers who are willing to pay to support the work our journalists are doing. |

- Published more than 1,900 stories to dallasobserver.com
- Printed and distributed over 1 million papers
- Was home to 9 full-time editorial staffers
- Worked with 20 freelancers, three staff writers, and 6 interns

This is an ever-evolving media landscape, and we have to pivot quickly as things change.
