Landlords will be forced to fix mouldy homes within 24 hours after tragic death of toddler The father of a two-year-old who died after exposure to mould at his housing association flat has welcomed plans to force landlords to repair mouldy homes within 24 hours.   The new rules have been proposed after two-year-old Awaab Ishak died in December 2020, following prolonged exposure to mould in his home in Rochdale, Greater Manchester.    Read the full article Mother alleges family were racially abused before teenager drowned, inquest told The mother of a teenage boy who drowned in a river while playing with friends has detailed the racial abuse her family allegedly suffered before his death, an inquest heard.   Christopher Kapessa, 13, died after being pushed into the River Cynon near Fernhill in Wales.   Another boy, then aged 14 and of white ethnicity, was seen pushing Christopher from a ledge into the water, South Wales Central Coroner's Court in Pontypridd heard - however he's been spared prosecution. Read the full article 'Palestine repression rife within UK schools and workplaces', report concludes There has been an increase in the number and types of cases involving backlash against expressions of solidarity for Palestine across UK schools and workplaces, new research has highlighted.   CAGE International, a London-based advocacy organisation, notes a 455 per cent increase in the number of cases it has handled of this nature since the last upsurge in 2021.  The report can be found here.
