| | ☁️ A new cross-country storm that began in the West Sunday will travel across America, hitting the East Coast by Wednesday evening. On Monday, the storm will stretch from California to the Rockies with snowfall, strong winds and coastal rain expected. Meanwhile, heavy mountain snow will continue in the Northwest throughout the day on Monday extending from Washington and Oregon into Montana and Utah. 🗳️ Former President Donald Trump romped in South Carolina's GOP primary on Saturday, dealing Nikki Haley, the state's former governor, a particularly painful loss. With more than 85% of the expected votes counted as of late Saturday, Trump took about 60% compared to Haley's 39%. Despite her defeat in the election, Haley vowed to continue campaigning in other states, saying, "I know 40% is not 50%." Read analysis of the results here. 🚨 A suspect was taken into custody a day after a woman who went for a run on the University of Georgia's Athens campus, Laken Hope Riley, 22, was found dead due to "foul play," school officials said Friday. The suspect, 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra, has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, obstructing an emergency call and concealing the death of another. He was denied bond during an initial court appearance on Saturday and is being held at the Clarke County Jail. 🏛️ A man was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday after authorities say he set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C.The man, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition, according to police. It was not immediately clear why the man set himself ablaze. 🥰 A brother and sister in Louisiana were overcome with emotion while enjoying cupcakes earlier this month, but for an unexpected reason, when they learned they would soon be welcoming a younger sibling into their home. | |
