| 🏛️ The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday heard a historic case of a Colorado Supreme Court decision that would ban former President Donald Trump from the state's 2024 GOP primary ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment over his role in the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021. Here are the key takeaways during more than two hours of oral argument in the case Trump v. Anderson, where each of the court's nine justices expressed skepticism that an individual state has the authority to deny a candidate for federal office from the ballot as an "insurrectionist." ⚖️ Special counsel Robert Hur said he will not recommend charges against President Joe Biden for his handling of classified documents while out of office, despite finding evidence that Biden "willfully retained" materials. Speaking in Virginia on Thursday afternoon, Biden noted the differences between his case and former President Donald Trump's, and how the special counsel in his probe had decided not to press charges, saying, "This matter is now closed." 🚁 Five missing Marines have been confirmed dead more than 24 hours after their helicopter crashed during a training flight, the U.S. Marine Corps said Thursday, adding that efforts are ongoing to recover the victims' remains at the crash site. The Marines had been reported missing when their CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter was "reported overdue" to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar Tuesday night. ✈️ Two JetBlue planes clipped each other Thursday morning while on a deicing pad at Boston Logan International Airport. The left winglet of JetBlue flight 777, an Airbus A321neo, struck the right horizontal stabilizer of JetBlue flight 551, which was an Airbus A321, according to the Federal Aviation Administration, which will investigate the incident. 🏀 Luca, a toddler from Alabama, has gone viral on TikTok after his mom, Paige Conkle, captured the 2-year-old reacting to a play during a basketball game. | |
