URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Greedy companies are putting our most iconic ENDANGERED ANIMALS at risk of extinction!
Arctic polar bears are starving as their hunting grounds melt away FOUR TIMES faster than the rest of the world! Corporate executives of cruise companies are raking in massive profits as these animals are dying. Cruise ships spew climate-warming emissions, accelerating Arctic melting. Their noise pollution scares away the salmon that orcas need to survive, and they dump toxic waste that can kill the seagrass that manatees eat.
It gets worse. The air and water pollution from cruise ships create serious health risks for people. Cruise ships run on some of the DIRTIEST heavy fuel, and they NEVER stop running – even when they dock in coastal communities.

When ships dock, the coastal communities are TRAPPED breathing in the hazardous waste from cruise ship smoke stacks. This can result in higher rates of respiratory disease like asthma! The massive ships can also scare away fish that local fishing economies depend on.
Shockingly, cruise ships can LEGALLY dump enormous amounts of TOXIC sludge and acidic wastewater directly onto fragile ocean habitats. The pollution feeds harmful algal blooms that can kill the seagrass that supports the vitality of our marine ecosystems.
In Southern Resident orca territory, cruise ships risk STRIKING and KILLING whales in addition to the harmful effects of chemical dumps and noise disturbances.
In the Arctic, titanic cruise vessels contribute to ice melt and pollute Indigenous communities. Their activities can harm polar bears and other wildlife that these communities rely on for their way of life.
Here's the bottom line, Friend: greedy cruise companies bring destruction with them wherever their ships go. Damage to our communities. Risks to some of our most iconic endangered species.
