| | 🌍 Vice President Kamala Harris will meet with Israeli war Cabinet member Benny Gantz at the White House on Monday as part of an ongoing effort to engage with a wide range of Israeli officials on the war in Gaza, a White House official has confirmed to ABC News. On Saturday, the U.S. C-130s dropped over 38,000 meals along the coastline of Gaza, "allowing for civilian access to the critical aid," according to a statement. The news comes as at least 10 children have reportedly died in recent days from dehydration and malnutrition while at a hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, a UNICEF official said Sunday. Meanwhile, chef and founder of nonprofit World Central Kitchen, José Andrés, pushed back on criticism that airdrops into the Palestinian territory are wrong.
🚨 The Pennsylvania State Police announced early Saturday morning that Shawn Cranston -- a 52-year-old man from Corry, Pennsylvania -- was arrested in connection with the murder of an Amish woman -- 23-year-old pregnant Rebekah Byler -- and is now facing multiple charges. Cranston was arraigned Saturday morning and is currently being held without bond at the Crawford County Jail.
🏛️ The University of Florida has eliminated all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) positions at the university, according to an administrative memo that was released Friday. The memo cites a recent state ban on the use of public funds for diversity, equity and inclusion programs, activities and policies -- as well as activities for "political or social activism" -- in the public college system.
🏀 University of Iowa basketball star Caitlin Clark has reached another milestone in her college career, breaking the NCAA all-time scoring record during a match against Ohio State on Sunday, hitting 18 points in the game with a technical free throw at the end of the second quarter. The 22-year-old now holds 3,668 points and counting, surpassing "Pistol" Pete Maravich, who scored 3,667 points while playing at Louisiana State University in 1970.
