Church investment fund to right wrongs of slavery links 'too small and too slow' A £100 million investment fund set up to address the Church of England's links to the mass enslavement of African people is too small and slow, according to a new report which calls for a target of £1 billion.   The funding programme was announced in January last year for investment, research and engagement to "address past wrongs".   Read the full article Afghan Youth Orchestra to perform in UK after Home Office U-turn on visa denial The Afghan Youth Orchestra (AYO) will now be allowed to perform in the UK after the Home Office reversed its decision to deny the group visas for entry.   The AYO was due to perform at the Southbank Centre in London on Thursday as part of its Breaking the Silence tour, and the venue's South Asian Sounds festival, before going on to perform concerts in Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.   Read the full report Jewish Londoners 'make plans to flee capital' amid huge antisemitism wave Jewish people in Britain say they are considering leaving the country as it "feels like Nazi Germany", amid a surge in antisemitic incidents since the Israel-Palestine conflict began last October.   The Campaign Against Antisemitism said some Jewish residents had already left because of fears for their safety.   Read the full article 'I'm too scared to leave my house': Muslim fears as Islamophobic incidents skyrocket by 365% Muslims in Britain say they are too scared to leave their homes after dark, as new figures show the number of Islamophobic incidents has skyrocketed since the Israel-Palestine conflict began in October. Read the full report by my colleague Athena Stavrou here.   This comes as London mayor Sadiq Khan hit out at the "poison" of Islamophobia as he responded to Tory MP Lee Anderson's hateful comments in a speech at the London Labour Conference on Saturday. 'High risk' that Black man jailed for murder gave false confession, appeal court told Police may have manipulated a Black man with learning difficulties into giving a false confession to a murder in the 1990s, the Court of Appeal has heard.   Oliver Campbell was jailed for life in 1991 for murdering shopkeeper Baldev Hoondle in east London the previous July.
