March 11, 2024 Commercial Driver's License Training Be ready to begin working in a few short weeks Getting your CDL can be as easy as completing a few simple steps. Then you can be on the road to a new career and unlimited earnings potential. To obtain an initial Missouri CDL, you must meet the following qualifications: Be at least 18 years old. Have a valid Missouri operator's license. Meet lawful status eligibility Complete required knowledge testing for the class and endorsements you require for training and skills testing for the commercial learners permit (CLP) Complete Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) from a provider listed on FMCSA's Training Provider Registry. ELDT compliance must be met and be verified by the examiner electronically prior to skills testing. Pass the CDL skills test with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, or a certified Missouri Third Party Tester. SkillUP Can Help Pay for Training If you receive SNAP, you are eligible for SkillUP!  The SkillUP program offers SNAP recipients the opportunity to gain skills, job training and work experience through many local community colleges and job centers across Missouri. This no-cost program can help pay for you to get a certificate in Highway Construction and put you on a path to a new future!
