Hundreds of police officers have been accused of sexually abusing children.

The numbers: At least 1,800 officers were charged with crimes involving child sexual abuse from 2005 through 2022, according to a Post investigation.
One disturbing case: In 2020, a New Orleans officer took a 14-year-old girl to get a rape kit after she reported a sexual assault. Then the officer assaulted her, too.
The latest: A civil trial against New Orleans over the teen's case was delayed yesterday after the Post investigation was published.

What happened? It damaged up to half of the structures in the town of Selma, about 55 miles northeast of Indianapolis, officials said. Damage was also reported in western Ohio.
The bigger picture: Tornado watches spanned a 1,000-mile stretch of the central U.S. yesterday. Earlier this week, parts of the Plains were hit with baseball-size "gorilla hail."
