*PUBLIC COMMENT DEADLINE March 28th* URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Stop corporate frackers from leasing Nevada public lands before precious landscapes are forever changed! Imagine your home invaded by the stench of rotten eggs. It slithers through your windows and settles in like an uninvited guest. It's not just the smell. There's noise, too. The POUNDING of high-pressure water smashing into the Earth, over and over again. This is what it would be like to live close to fracking operations, Friend. Air and water pollution. Horrific smells. Constant battering noises. It's no wonder some people experience splitting headaches. The Department of Interior has announced a new lease sale of Nevada public lands. If it moves forward, the highest corporate bidder will get a pass to frack on our public lands, including near Nevada communities. If just 1 of every 7 people reading this email takes action, we can hit our goal to STOP greedy companies from making profits destroying our public lands. Sign the petition now! >> The proposed lease area is also home to all sorts of wildlife – from pronghorn antelope to badgers and jackrabbits. Fracking in these habitats would, at minimum, disturb these creatures if not directly harm them. The effects of fracking aren't localized. While it can destabilize ground in the immediate area and harm local wildlife, the pollution can spread far, too! That means Nevadans could be exposed to TOXIC POLLUTION and potentially RADIOACTIVE WASTEWATER from fracking.
