| | 🏛️ The Florida state Supreme Court issued a decision Monday upholding the state's 15-week abortion ban, dealing a blow to a legal challenge asking the court to throw out the ban. A six-week trigger ban signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis will now go into effect in 30 days, prohibiting the procedure before most women know they are pregnant. ☁️ Severe weather is in the forecast for the Heartland and the Midwest, with damaging winds, large hail and even a few strong tornadoes possible. On Tuesday, as the storm moves east, the severe weather will concentrate from Mississippi to West Virginia, with the highest tornado threat from Tennessee to Kentucky. 🚨 A temporary channel has opened in the vicinity of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, but the channel is limited only to vessels working on the bridge response, the Unified Command said Monday. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Joe Biden will visit the Baltimore bridge site on Friday, April 5, joined by Maryland Gov. Wes Moore. ⚖️ Alex Murdaugh, who is already serving two life sentences for the murder of his wife and child, was sentenced Monday to 40 more years in prison for financial crimes, according to Charleston, South Carolina, ABC affiliate WCIV.
