Rep. Escobar is leading an action to hold Israel accountable

Hello. It's Yasmine, MPower Action's Political Director, and I have some good news to share.

MPower's members are having an impact. More than 10,500 of us took action to support an effort in the House to stop arms for Israel's genocidal campaign in Gaza, and I'm writing today to ask you to join us.

Please take a minute to take action here. 

We now have until Tuesday, April 16, to pressure Members of Congress to sign on to efforts led by Reps. Veronica Escobar (TX-16) and Joaquin Castro (TX-20) to stop the flow of weapons to Israel. 

Please read the email below. We need to make every effort to stop arms for genocide.

Subject: URGENT: New House Action to Stop Arms to Israel

As salaamu alaykum, Indiana Jones—

Netanyahu has vowed to launch a military assault on Rafah for "total victory"— with or without the Biden administration's approval.¹ We need to act now, often, and demand that the Biden administration stop Israel's strikes on Rafah where 1.4 million Palestinians are sheltering.

Israel relies on U.S. military assistance to continue its genocidal war.

A new House letter led by Reps. Veronica Escobar (TX-16) and Joaquin Castro (TX-20) aims to stop the U.S. flow of arms to Israel and to hold Israel accountable by demanding answers from the administration on how or why Israel's "assurances" was accepted as credible while Israel is violating international humanitarian law, and existing U.S. laws by also blocking the delivery of humanitarian assistance. 

Tell your Member of Congress to sign on to the Escobar/Castro letter.

Biden recently fast-tracked an arms transfer to Israel of 2,000 massive MK84 bombs, notorious for mass casualties.² 

That arms transfer came around the same time Israel killed seven aid workers and after killing nearly 200 other aid workers.³ 

The systematic targeting and killing of aid workers is a war crime. Palestinians deserve a full investigation into each death of the many humanitarian workers and the indiscriminate targeting of thousands of civilians in Gaza.  

Today we ask you to help stop the delivery of weapons and bombs from the U.S. to Israel by urging your Member of Congress to sign on to the Escobar/Castro letter demanding accountability and answers from the administration.

Join us: Tell your House member to sign the Escobar/Castro letter by 3pm ET Friday and stop funding Israel's genocide.
