In Currents 123, Dallas-based artist Tamara Johnson presents a new sculptural installation and video essay that will explore the spaces in which familiar objects meet, permeate, and merge with the unseen systems of the body.

Celebrate the opening with drinks and entertainment in Sculpture Hall! Then join us for an Artist Talk with Tamara from 6-7 pm.

Leaning into the Wind follows artist Andy Goldsworthy on his exploration of the layers of his world and the impact of the years on himself and his art. As Goldsworthy introduces his own body into the work it becomes at the same time even more fragile and personal and also sterner and tougher, incorporating massive machinery and crews on his bigger projects.

Fluid Perspectives
Friday, April 26 | 6-7 pm | Free

This two-part dance performance explores synchronicity between two exhibitions: Matisse and the Sea at the Saint Louis Art Museum and Paul Chan: Breathers at Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, which both feature Matisse's bathers and playful movements of shape and color.

Both pieces are created and performed by Pack Dance Company, formerly Consuming Kinetics Dance Company.
