Parenteau + Waters Take Gold In North Carolina   Selkirk Pro Catherine Parenteau and her partner Anna Leigh Waters secured another gold this weekend in women's doubles after sweeping all three gold match games as the #1 seed. Waters also secured her spot in history, reaching her 100th gold medal win after a triple crown at the North Carolina event. This accomplishment comes only three years after her first gold medal victory.   Read: PPA North Carolina Highlights On The Selkirk Blog Pro Hockey Players Hit The Pickleball Court   The PPA North Carolina Cup took a break in the action Saturday afternoon to welcome Carolina Hurricanes hockey athletes to the court for the 2024 Celebrity Pickleball Pro-am. Accompanied by college basketball legend Tyler Hansbrough and Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind-Amour, the hockey celebs battled it out with PPA pros in an impressive and entertaining display of dinks and smashes. Player Stats Paddle Training Tips Catherine Parenteau had a successful Division I Tennis career at Michigan State before she was introduced to pickleball by one of the sport's legends, Simone Jardim. Parenteau quickly rose through the ranks and has been a fixture atop the PPA Tour Leaderboard for years. Catherine competes on both the PPA Tour and in Major League Pickleball, where she is a member of the Los Angeles Mad Drops. Her decorated career across singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles features various PPA Tour Championships as well as a triple crown performance in 2023. Parenteau joined Team Selkirk at the start of 2023 and competes using the Vanguard Power Air Invikta paddle.
