A branch of the Islamic State group claimed responsibility. The latest: The U.S. gave Russia specific warnings weeks before the attack, The Post reported yesterday. What to know: Cal-Maine Foods paused operations at one of its facilities and destroyed about 2 million chickens after detecting a potent avian flu strain, the company said yesterday. Should you worry? The bird flu has now been detected in dairy cows in multiple states — and in two humans — but officials say the risk to human health remains low. The details: Nearly 80% of people with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder who followed a low-carb diet in a medical trial had "clinically meaningful improvement," a new study found. Why? The diet, which also reduced the side effects of patients' medications, may correct metabolic issues and provide energy to the brain. But more research is needed. Read this story         Prisoners are suing to be allowed to see the solar eclipse. What's happening? New York plans to lock down prisons during the eclipse on Monday, citing safety concerns. A lawsuit, filed by six inmates last week, is trying to undo that plan. Why? The event has religious significance, the inmates argue.
